The Los Angeles Rams, Denver Broncos, and Tennessee Titans are the NFL’s best defensive teams, according to an analysis by ESPN Stats & Information.
The study, which analyzed defensive plays from each team’s regular season and playoffs, ranked each team by its overall score on the NFL Defensive Play Index (DSI), which measures how well each team defended the run.
The rankings came from ESPN Stats and Info’s Pro Football Focus.
It’s worth noting that the rankings don’t include sacks or turnovers that can be blamed on an offense or a defense.
The rankings only look at defensive performance overall.
The Rams, ranked 11th overall, are a team that’s been around since the 2009 season.
They were the defending NFC champions and earned their second Super Bowl appearance.
The Broncos, ranked second overall, were the team that lost in the Super Bowl and are now in the AFC West.
They finished last in the league last season.
The Titans, ranked third overall, finished last out of the AFC’s top four teams in 2013.
They went 4-12 in 2013 and went 7-9 in 2014.
The Saints and Patriots both finished last overall, with the Patriots finishing 10th.
The Patriots have a new coach in Sean Payton, and they have an offseason of new additions.
The Seahawks finished first overall in 2014, and then dropped to third in 2015.
The Panthers were ranked No. 1 in 2016 and were the best defensive team in the NFC in 2016.
The Raiders finished third in 2017, and have a revamped offensive line, with a new quarterback in Derek Carr and a young defense.
The Ravens, Raiders, and Titans were the NFLs best offensive teams last season, while the Browns were the league’s worst.
The Titans were second to last in total offense last season and were also ranked third in total defense.
