By now, you’ve probably heard about a strain of the coronavirus called coronaviruses A/California/2 that can cause the most severe form of congenital heart defects in humans, including congenital microcephaly.
But what you may not know is that the strain is also highly contagious.
So when you get a glimpse of a baby’s face and ears, that could mean the virus is on the way.
The virus can cause congenital abnormalities in the heart and lungs, but it can also cause birth defect in infants and young children.
